Nabasa nyo na?
Kung natatamad kayong magbasa, let me summarize it for you guys
Apparently, Facebook app pala can listen to our surroundings (via it's built-in mic) and hear sounds like music, TV, and yes, even people's conversations for ads targeting!
I think they've already announced this development last year? I am not sure, pero ang alam ko it's for music and TV shows lang (you know, usual entertainment advertising) and you have an option to opt-out.
According to this article NOT TRUE daw ang issue. I'm being skeptical though. Matagal ng issue sa akin ang sangdamakmak na ads dominating on my news feed. And since the rise of FB videos (trending topics, etc), halos wala na akong matinong feed na mabasa sa facebook ko kahit na anong filter pa ang gawin ko. Nung isang araw nga lang eh may nabasa akong 'Kris Aquino, tumae sa swimming pool'.

Kung pwede lang talagang wag nang mag facebook eh. Kaso wala naman akong Instagram and Twitter. Mawawalan ako ng way para mai-post ang aking mga precious selfies. Charot!
On a serious note guys, ang creepy din ah. I remember nung time na natuklasan kong meron din pala silang facial recognition. Diba they suggest tagging of friends whenever you upload photos? Mostly tama yung suggestions nila right? Oo nakakabilib, pero kung iisipin mong maigi - hanggang saan ang kayang gawin ng Facebook para mas lalo tayong makilala? Para mapadali ang lahat ng bagay sa buhay natin? Gaano tayo nakakasigurong hindi ito magagamit laban sa atin?
Out of curiosity, sinubukan ko kung may bahid ng katotohanan ang issue na to using my own phone. In broad daylight (haha, kinalaman ng ilaw?), in a loud and clear voice I said: Gusto ko ng Jollibee! Syempre I made sure na walang suggested Jollibee ad sa news feed ko before that. After a few minutes, I refresh and scroll down my feeds, and voila!

It could be random coincidence but it sure creeps the hell out of me. Hindi na ako muling gagamit ng FB app. I. SWEAR.
Now I'm not saying na paniwalaan nyo ako guys. I'm even willing to give Mark Zuckerberg the benefit of the doubt. Let's just say na gusto ko lang ding i-share sa inyo ang bagay nato (para mapraning din kayo katulad ko) Hehe.
